Safe computer care starts with a clear review
Understand previews, recoverable holding and actual space changes before making a storage cleanup decision.
Large does not mean disposable
A large file can be valuable. Its size does not tell you whether it belongs to an active project or whether you will need it again. Keep personal files and source work out of casual cleanup.
Start with a clear review of replaceable data rather than a hunt for the largest item. If the purpose of an item is uncertain, retain it.
Read the preview before selecting
A useful preview describes what is proposed and what stays protected. Review the categories and consequences, then choose the items you understand. An advanced mode should be an explicit choice, not a silent default.
Safe Clean is the recommended conservative review in Smart Storage Clean. Deep Clean adds an advanced preview and another confirmation. Windows, macOS and Linux public installers are not available yet.
Know when a change can be undone
Holding selected items for possible restoration can make a review less final. Held files still occupy storage. Successful permanent removal may recover space; check the measured result. The app cannot restore permanently removed items.
Keep an independent backup for important data. A recoverable cleanup option is useful, but it is not a replacement for a backup.
Distinguish estimates from results
An estimate helps you compare proposed items. A measured change describes the volume after an action. These can differ, and other activity on the computer can affect free space during the same period.
Read completed, skipped and interrupted results before trying again. Do not assume an entire plan succeeded because some items were processed.
Ask for help without sharing your files
Optional AI assistance can explain category summaries without receiving filenames or personal documents. Review privacy choices before enabling it.
